fen1sI think people have a tendency to forget that lily and Snape were actually best friends for nearly a decade, and I think that is why people view Snape as this creep who got rejected by the cool popular girl and still can't get over her 15 years later but like,, have y'all ever had a bestfriend die? do you just forget about your loved ones the second they are buried? they weren't friendly to each other the way acquaintances are, they were childhood bestfriends, lily was the only non-transactional friendship Snape ever had, no matter his faults and the shit he did that friendship doesn't suddenly lose value just because she died or they stopped being friends.

I'm now thinking, maybe he started this because his books were hand-me-downs from his mother and thus out of date. He started correcting the text because it needed updating so he could pass tests and do his homework properly, but as time went on and he got older and cleverer, he started making his own corrections as well.

I seriously pity Snape. When he expressed his enthusiasm about going Hogwarts to Lily when they were sitting in the train, leaving behind his sad family situation, hoping he would find happiness at Hogwarts. Little did he know, James Potter and Sirius Black were going to ruin his life and make his school-life miserable and hell-like.
Same 😭 he believed Hogwarts would be his safe haven and was so thrilled about getting away from his parents and having to deal with their arguing at home. But little did he know, he would come to face some of the most traumatic moments of his life at that school. (The way the chapter that was literally titled “Snape’s Worst Memory” took place at Hogwarts and happened bc of the Marauders even though he lived with abusive parents, hm Marauder stans I wonder what y’all have to say on this matter)
